Who We Are
HER Cincinnati empowers women to break the cycles of poverty, addiction, and human trafficking through Housing, Education, and Recovery programs. A Picture's Worth (APW) is a Cincinnati-based nonprofit dedicated to ethical, community-centered storytelling. We are partnering on this testimonial project together.
What You're Agreeing To
By submitting your testimonial, you are granting HER Cincinnati and A Picture's Worth permission to use your audio recording, photograph (if provided), and identifying information (first name, last initial, and the program you're speaking about) in connection with HER Cincinnati's mission-driven communications.
Your testimonial may be used in: HER Cincinnati's website and social media channels, grant reports, donor communications, in-person events and presentations, printed materials, and APW's storytelling work on HER's behalf. With your consent, your testimonial may also be shared with HER-approved partners such as funders and press.
About Editing
We may lightly edit your audio for clarity — trimming pauses, removing background noise, or choosing a specific excerpt for a shorter format. We will never alter the substance or meaning of what you said. If a piece feels like a significant re-framing, we will reach out to you before publishing.
What We Will Never Do
We will never sell your story or personal information to third parties. We will never use your testimonial in a context that misrepresents your intent or experience. We will never share your full contact information (email, phone) publicly.
Your Rights
You retain ownership of your story. You may request removal from any or all uses at any time by contacting elissa@apicturesworth.org. Removal requests are honored within 30 days, except where materials have already been printed or installed.
How We Store Your Data
Your audio recording, photo (if provided), and contact information are stored securely. Only authorized HER Cincinnati staff and APW staff have access to your submission. We follow best practices for data protection and will not retain your data longer than necessary for the project.
Trauma-Informed Approach
Both HER Cincinnati and APW practice trauma-informed storytelling. You are never required to share more than you are comfortable with. You may stop your recording at any time. If you share something difficult, we may reach out to ensure you have access to support resources.
